High school students from River HomeLink, Battle Ground High School and Prairie High School are bridging the generation gap—and sorting out smartphone settings—at the local Battle Ground Senior Center. Recently, the tech-savvy teens met with seniors, who arrived with their notebooks in hand and questions ready about their Android and iPhones. From mastering new features to understanding settings, the sessions allow an older generation to confidently navigate their devices with a little help from the high schoolers, who also earn volunteer hours.
It’s about more than just technology, though. The popular monthly event highlights a touching connection between the two generations. Beyond answering questions on screen time and apps, one student went the extra mile by zipping up a senior's coat. These interactions prove that when teens and seniors come together, they don't just solve tech problems; they share warmth and build genuine community.
